I'm not exactly sure how much total is in the box (I have seen $15,140 several times) but I can inject a simple way to remember how much each person gets to start a game:

Thinking from largest to smallest denomination, remember this like it were a phone number: 222-6555.

2- $500
2- $100
2- $50
6- $20
5- $10
5- $5
5- $1

A. The bank has $15,140 in cash (in standard editions of Monopoly).
The money comes in 20 orange $500 bills, 20 beige $100 bills, 30 green $50 bills, 50 blue $20 bills, 40 yellow $10 bills, 40 pink $5 bills, and 40 white $1 bills.

It really depends on how many of the 20 dollar bills are hiding behind your sofa cushions and how many 5 dollar bills your dog tore up. Funny enough, doesn't it seem that there are never enough $100 bills? I am forever having to ask everyone to trade in their 100's for $500's

It depends, are you referring to the board game monopoly? if so then $15,140, but if you're referring to the Microsoft, OPEC, and or many other such monopolies, then as Carl Sagan would say, "Billions and Billions" LOL
