Most likely, it is Braxton Hicks. I was hospitalized at 26 weeks for them. Just needed to drink more water.

most likely Braxton-hicks... which can be as painful as real labor sometimes. Just keep an eye on the clock, if they start coming more than 3 an hour... keep a closer eye on them. If they continue, go see the dr. Otherwise, try to relax. Take a bath (if there's someone to help you get out of the tub :-) ). Also, be sure you are hydrated. I've noticed my BH get worse if I havn't been drinking my water that day!!!

On the back pain, try the "cat-back arch" stretches. You can do them on hands and knees, or laying on your side with a pillow between your legs. Gently rock you pelvis and stretch you back out. The back pain in contractions generally comes from the baby facing your front instead of your back. What this stretch does is rub the baby's head with your tailbone (doesn't hurt them), and they don't like it, so they turn around they way they belong!!

It could be Braxton-Hicks contractions which sometimes can very well seem like real labor. It never hurts to inform your physician that you are having different changes going on with your pregnancy, especially toward your third trimester (or any for that matter). You can always lie down on your left side to relieve some of the "tightening" if it is becoming to frequent, just to relax your body some and to get off of your feet. Good luck!!

Could be braxton hicks could be labor could be nothing. Walk around. Braxton hicks usually will go away with activity. Labor will usually intensify. Wear a watch with a minute hand. Are these pains comeing and going? Or constant? If comeing and going then time them from the start of one to the start of another and see how far apart they are. Also time the duration of the pain itself. If they are becomeing closer together then call your doctor becaue you are too early to be having your baby. I have 7 kids and am very experienced in all sorts of onsets of labor LOL!

It sounds like Braxton Hicks. Does this pain go away with movement, try walking or something. Also try drinking LOTS of water. Dehydration can cause preterm labor and contractions. If these things don't help then contact your doctor. Hopefully its not labor, wanna keep that baby gestating a few more weeks.

Ever heard of false labor pains? If you are 31 weeks along these might be the start of what are know as Braxton Hicks, your uterus (where the baby develops) is beginning to flex its muscles in preparation for labor, that does not mean you are having the baby right now.

Most important, do talk to your OB

It sounds like it MAY be the beginning of labor. Normally, with labor the pains start in the back area and then come around front with a tightening of the abdominal area kind of like a crescendo effect. If you can actually time in between pains in a somewhat regular pattern, you need to call your doctor!

Could be Braxton-hicks, but I had those symptoms and it was because I was having a long baby. he was compressing all my organs inside, causing stomach tightness, nausea, back pain, i could'nt even sleep in my bed, I had to sleep sitting. If you're not tall, and having a long baby, it could be the same as me. Always better to check with your OB, but I really don't think you,re starting your labor. Have a nice day :)

at 31 weeks I would call the doctor now or go to the doctor's. they have the technology to know if they are braxton hicks. If you are in labor you should be in a hospital so they can monitor you and if they have to stop your labor and the sooner you are there the better chance they will have to stop it. Good Luck

if you are worried ALWAYS go to the doctor for a check up. but, real labor is in timed intervals. REALLY, contractions will be exactly the same amount of time apart. chances are, you are experiencing "braxton hicks" also called false labor. BUT WHEN IN DOUBT, get it checked out!
