Yes . Special interest, Republican Oil Men, and Military Contractors, are making huge profits.
all Wars are fought over a gain of some sorts.
In a way we provoked Japan in World War Two, by cutting off oil to them.
It is sad but people try to form a Good Government, and greed always sneaks in.

Before Bush invaded Iraq, gas was under $2 per gallon.

If you wanted to jack up the price of crude, what better way to do it than cause unrest in the Middle East. What better way to cause unrest in the Middle East than to attack 2 nations there and threaten to attack a 3d. Its not about having more oil. Its about driving prices up based upon uncertainty of supply.

Result: $3/gallon gas. All wrapped up in a patriotic war against 2 countries which did not attack us.

As for rfjanssen, if we're keeping "terrorism" "there, (presumably you mean Iraq)," how do you account for Timothy McVeigh? There are plenty of home grown "terrorists."

But I have to admit, bush has done a great job of creating new "terrorists" over there too.

I believe the theory is to maintain access. Since we are in a quagmire there we haven't gained access. Beside that the USA has many intrests in the region. I suspect lots of fishy stuff going on behind the scenes with Bush, his Haliburton cohorts and many Arab leaders and business people.
