There is such a broad spectrum of cosmetic products out there that it can be overwhelming! I used to manage a cosmetics line at a high end dept. store. You can't emagine the stockpile of stuff I have that I can't use. But dont get too disscuraged....I to have picky skin but have found some really cool products.
Anyway, there is no real "best foundatation" out there, it's whats best for you, but I can suggest a few brands to ckeck out.

low end.....
L'oreal True match (17 spf ). It is really easy to apply (best with sponge, and I would have to say that application techinque is about 40% of the equasion) It has good coverage and you can actually apply it fairly heavy if you need to and not look like a clown. The only problem is getting a color match right on the first try.

Revlon Skinlights Illusion wand Luminous Touch. It comes in a tube with a brush tip and you just twist the bottom to push product up into the brush. This is one of my favorite's! It's light reflective which tones down flaws nicely and you can use it any where on your face. Though this is not a coverage product so to speek you can even out your complexion beautifily. Note...There are only three colors, ranging from fair to medium. Also, when applying this product or any concelor... less is more!, light layery are best when dealing with problem spots and always pat it into your skin never rub.

Neutrogena Mineral Sheers. This ones a skin friendly mineral powder you can wear alone or over your foundatation. I just discovered this one recently and I love it! I never did like to wear a powder (even though it's best way to get your makeup last all day) it just looks like powder in your face... up close. Yuck! Anyway, this one dosen't look powdery or dry and it has a beautiful finish. The only flaw I see with this product is that you can't clean the brush because it's all one piece...scratch that, I just figured out you can ( carefully) pull it apart.

As for the mascara it really depends on your lashes.Personally mascara is my main thing and the one drug store brand I can recomend is Maybelline VOLUM' express turbo bust. Currently this is my favorite, even over dept. store ones! Easy on the eyes too. Note...mascara is only good for about six weeks once you start using is.

Now to eyeliner. I generally use a high pigment shadow and a quality flat brush (some call it a push liner). This is a method you
can creat a very subtle or an intense dramatic look. Best of all your color choices are endless! Once you get the technique down youl love it.

high end....
TEINT FLUIDE UNIVERSAL multi-vitamin NATURAL MAKEUP by
(spf 15) by CHANEL. This is a light foundatation that is extreamly easy to apply. It is over $50 but worth it. ALSO, Chanel has georgous shadows!

Flextencils mascara by Lancome is quite good ( if it's fresh).
They also have great color products like blushes, shadows (great pigment), and regular eyeliners.

ORIGINS eye pencils are great...... they go on easy and make a nice soft line. Inexpensive too.

All the products I've mentioned have been gentile on my skin (which is rare),but may not be on someone elses..... Good luck .
Rebecca.

Here is the deal......I am not sure what kind of money that you are working with so I will list a few suggestions for you.

The best foundation I have ever used is from Perscriptives (hypo-allergenic). It is called virtual skin and it has light to medium coverage. It nice and light and you cannot even tell that you have it on. It also does not dry the skin or make it oily. However it is about $35 dollars for a bottle. If that is too pricey, then I would reccomend Clinique's(hypo-allergenic) Perfectly Real make-up and it is about $25. But if that is still too pricey then I would suggest Cover Girl fresh look.

For foundations I recommend that you stay away from Almay, Mary Kay, Revlon and Loreal. The reason being is that their foundations tend to be too heavy and do not lie on the skin right. Some can look cakey and even make you break out.

For your eyes I would only really recommend Clinique as that is all I have ever used. They do not have perfumes or irritiants in them and they stay on for hours. They have a great selection too. They can run from about $13-$25, but I think that it is worth it. I also use their quickliner for eyes. You never need to sharpen it and it applies easily and does not wear off quickly. Now for mascara I have only ever used a few of them. However I do recommend either the Natural Glossy Mascara from Clinique or even from Maybelline the Great Lash Mascara as that has been around for 35 years and it is the most recommended mascara from all make-up artist and research studies. Plus it does not hurt that it is cheaper than most.

Just a note in buying colors for the eyes I would make them natural looking. Some color once in awhile can be fun, but for eyeliners I get brown as it emphasizes without standing out. But that is just me.

Since you're looking for hypo-allergenic, I would recommend two brands: Almay and Clinique. Clinique has been around forever, and ALL of their makeup is hypo-allergenic so it won't irritate skin at all. Almay has been around for a little while, and they have makeup that accentuates certain skin tones and eye colors. If you're interested in just testing cosmetics right now, I would start with Almay (as they're a little cheaper than Clinique brand products). You can find it at pretty much any store that sells makeup...Kmart, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, anywhere! They have nice little eye kits that you can choose from, depending on what your eye color is. They also have REALLY nice foundation. I would highly recommend these products. If you're looking to spend a little more on cosmetics, go for Clinique. They have 'booths' at most large department stores - Dillards, Macy's, etc. and they're not TOO expensive. They have really nice shades too. Good luck to you in your search for the best brands!

The only foundation worth putting on your face is Chanel. Anything else is white trash. For mascara, eyeliner, and eyeshadow, you must wear Dior. Don't listen to all of these little people pushing crap brands! Hope this helps :)

ive got alergies and therefore its been a battle finding the right base make up I tried the cover girl and the maybalene to no avail they just dried out my problem areas. I did find a revelon foundation called soft flex color stay and it works. I dont have that fake put on face look with it and it dont bring out lines etc since im 45. I guess the maybalene is for the younger generation as well as cover girl. You could try this one and if you do let me know its not expensive and believe me ive tried them all. its about 10. dollars a bottle. At any walmart .

Mary Kay is actually recommended by many dermatologists because it is ok for people with sensitive or "picky" skin, it also will not clog your pores. Since I have been using the Mary Kay foundation and other skin care and cosmetics my skin looks much better than it used to, I don't even break out alot anymore.

In my opion Mary Kay has the best products on the market, and you can try them before you buy them! There products are hypoalergenic and are not tested on animals

Go to this website and it will give you a virtual makeover.. it shows you how to apply it as well as what colors look the best.. you of course could pick what ever you wanted.. also you can recieve samples of what ever you wanted to try!

The first thing you need to find out what kind of skin you have. Find one what is for your type of skin that works better. I use different brands, as I buy what is best for my skin. Your age, and what kind of look you want is important. I use the natural powder base as I have oily skin and I am older. What kind of look do you want? What kind of problems do you have with your skin that you want to hide or deal wit?. All the major brands are good out there. I use two different kinds of mascara to get the look I want. Go for the colors you want.
The best thing would go to a place that sells make up and gives a free make up to your face. They can help you decide what you want and what looks good for you. Most department stores and stores that sell make up offer this free. I get one very time I go buy my make up to get new ideas on what I can do and it is fun.
