I am part of a family of 10. There are 2 adults and 8 children , ages from 10years to 3 month old twins. I get at least 8 to 9 hours of sleep at night and I still feel tired and drained of my energy. I never feel like going out because I am to tired and wore out. This has just happened since I had the twins. The kids are the ones paying for it because I dont feel like going any where any more. Is there any thing I can do to change this or help this problem?

YES! Consuming a raw-food diet will give you all the energy you need! As well as curing any other maladies you may have. There are alot of good books to get you started; the best one I've found so far is, "Living on Live Food" by Alissa Cohen (www.alissacohen.com). Search, "eat raw food" on Google to find more resources. And DON'T take the advice about the energy drinks - as you probably know, sugar is an energy-sapper. Avoid caffeine, too.

To start, try investing in a cheapo juicer ($30 or so) from Wal-Mart. When I need a pick-me-up, I juice some organic spinach, a zuchinni or two, and a bunch of apples, then drink that concoction chilled. It's green but tastes like the best apple juice you've ever had, and it will really get you going, plus it's really healthy!

Kudos to you for having 8 kids - I only have 2 so far, but I HOPE I have 8 someday! :o)

Start taking vitamins. Vitamin C and Vitamin B. There is also a vitamin called Echinacea. It strengthens your immune system. Also, eating right and keeping a healthy diet helps a lot. From the way it sounds, you need to actually get up and do something. Get your blood moving. Sleeping and sitting around too much slows your metabolism and will make you even more sleepy and less energetic than you should be. There are some One-a-day Women's vitamins that you can also take that will help a lot. And you don't have to just take one or the other. Taking all of these vitamins daily will help tremendously. Asking your doctor about vitamins that would work for you might not be bad idea either.

Hi! I can SOOOOOO relate to your situation. I am a relatively new mom who also works 25 hours a week and volunteers with my Church. I found that they best solution was to cut all sugar out of my diet and exercise intensely for 30 minutes a day. That sounds like a tall order, but the payback you get in energy from that 30 minutes makes you feel supercharged for the whole day. You literally feel lighter. Try looking at some videos from www.beachbody.com They have wonderful 30 minute workouts for people at every fitness level. I know it's not easy to squeeze one more thing into your day, but when your body feels good, everything else is easier. PLEASE give this a try and you will see what I mean.

Wow, sounds like post partem depression and/or type 2 diabetes that occurs to some women after a pregnancy even if there were no symptoms with other pregnancies.

Read up on this site on PPD and see your doctor on the diabetes that can be treated with medication and proper diet and exercise.

Good Luck and get back to your happy smiling ways.

Okay, look...the young twins can be put up for adoption. They're still young enough and cute enough to find a home for. The older ones can be sent to military school in another state. This will cut your work load pretty dramatically already. Don't let the kids in the house, as they are generally dirty and carry germs. This will cut housekeeping needs. I'm always here to help. It's my job.

You might have post-partum depression, or a thyroid disorder or anemia. All our relatively common a few months after having a baby (or in your case- 2). See you primary care doctor for an evalutation- make sure he/she checks your thyroid test (TSH), checks for anemia (CBC and Ferritin and iron counts) and that you talk about the symptoms of post-partum depression. Fortunately, all of those can be treated relatively easily if identified -so set up that appointment today!
