As we play on Answers, are we being subjected to subliminal suggestions, making Answers addictive to all who use it? Is Answers a big experiment, or what?????

I know for sure I am!

We just got one of those big Police camera's (you know the ones to watch the traffic) put on a post right outside my home. As I got up one morning I had my shower and came back into the bedroom to get dressed and I noticed that the camera had turned and was looking directly into my room. I've made a complaint and I was told that such things don't go on and it must have been turning or watching traffic on the other side of the road!

But it hasn't stopped! The only thing I'm really pissed off about is my performance has always to be 110%. Don't want any one to think I'm a lazy lover! (wink wink)

LoL XxX

1. In my view, the YAT are busy in "fire-fighting" work to keep this experimental system up and running. They do watch us by setting and watching a few parameters like 'community guidelines' and Terms of Service (TOS) etc. The 'report Abuse' also plays significant role as peer-watch.

Of course, we can safely say that around 80% of the person who came across Y!A are hooked to it at different level of addiction. The addicts are now finding place at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AnswerholicsAnonymous/ and such Yahoo Groups to get back to 'normal' rhythm of life.

2. Bill Gates once said "We live the observed life". Translation...assumes that everything you say, write, or do will be reviewed by a team of lawyers...with the worst of intentions.

Living the "observed life" can actually be a good thing, once you get used to it. But it should be your choice, not a requirement.

It's like a voluntary 'Big Brother'. All the information you add in cyberspace is recorded and available for a price.

Example: I have a yahoo password with both letters and numbers in it. I signed up to a service that had nothing to do with my yahoo email, but when the registration page came up, all my information was already there, and even though I do not enter my correct age on any website, the registration page had the numbers from my email password in it.

Myspace, one of the largest on line communities, is now owned by the 'Fox' network, the largest media group in the world. Almost all media is is owned, if not as the sole proprietor, then joint, by four people. see http://www.cultsock.ndirect.co.uk/MUHome/cshtml/media/4estate.html

When we sign up for on line profiles or the like, we are voluntarily offering information about both ourselves and the people we are in relationships with, be it from aquaintances on your 'friends page' to collegues and family. There are listening devices powerful enough to pick up individual words and relay them to the searcher. Google, Excite, Yahoo, AltaVista... and this is only the technology available to you and me. Actual technology is about ten to fifteen years in advace of what we have today. For example, pentiums Xeon chip was created in the late 1990's, but is only being used on a broad scale today.

It is important for those in power to listen out for 'thieves in the night'. Since the days of King Solomon when he wrote proverbs, we know tht the rich and the powerful lay away at night worrying about their wealth and power. It's just that the way we sublimate and cathect that anxiety has changed.

If so, so what?

The beauty of Answers is that we realize its other folk that answer the question, that wer realize that all knowledge is human and fallible.

Then we can learn to start to think and investigate for ourselves.

And that is the kind of mentality we need to keep Big Brother in check.

We are a country of warriors, of free people.

We can't go down like suckers. We gotta free our minds first.

It is an experiment that will lead the human race to the big brother society. every step will be watched and every move that we make will be monitored 24/7. We are getting there very rapidly already, unfortunately it will be to late when we realise that we can't go back.

You are thinking too much, just sit back, relax and keep answering/asking questions.
Oh and shop on E-Bay. I don't know why I said that but I feel really strongly about having to shop on E-Bay. And the more questions I answer the more I want to go on E-Bay. Hmmmmm.

Sounds possible if anything, like maybe some of the questions are put on here by a huge goverment plan to see how we tick! Great question!

Good question. On the one hand it's harmless and i reckon we must be more wary of being "observed" when we are not consetting information. How bad can it be if we are participating. It's when we stop participating and are still observed that freaks me out.
