I am absolutely astonished. I had no idea the whole dang'ole world sees King of the Hill. Do you all think we in Texas are really like the Hills??? I have seen the real 'Hank Hill'. The guy they patterned Hank off of. The Propane Store and everything! Here in Austin. (Which is what Arlen represents).

Yeah, they've been showing it in Florida for years. Great show. I think it was made by Mike Judge, the same guy who did Beavis and Butthead...I always thought that Hank Hill was a spin-off of B & B's neighbor Mr. Anderson. I lived in TX for a while too, and the characters aren't necessarily typical Texans. I've actually got male neighbors now who stand around drinking beer and saying "Yep", I'll bet that's a worldwide phenomenon. :)

I'm in the UK and I used to watch it all the time a few years ago. I don't think it has been on for a while (non-cable/satellite) but I really enjoyed it. It was one of my favourite programmes for ages. I think it is really clever, moving and well scripted. The characters are really human and believable. I always had trouble understanding Boomhauer though!

It's certainly shown and repeated here in sunny Scotland (UK). Good series.

On the subject of Austin, Texas - long live the memory of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Finest guitar player I ever heard.

They show it in Florida. Say Hi to Hank, Peggy, and Bobby!

The series airs in the United Kingdom on Sky One, Channel 4, and FX, in Canada on Global TV (with reruns on the Comedy Network and various local channels), and in Australia on the Seven Network (with reruns on Pay-TV channel FOX8).

I don't know, but in Texas, we don't say "thang", we say "Texas thing, y'all." It could be national, because there was one episode where the Hill family went to China.
