Could be laber. Could be braxton-hicks contractions. See your doctor!

I am not a Dr. but considering you are 8 1/2 months, it could be early signs of labor. There is a thing called back labor, also false labor (braxton hicks) but you would be wise to call your Dr. and let him know what is going on, he will probably want you to come in for an exam. Hope this helped, and HAPPY BABY!!

I agree with the general ideas here... early labor. As for the back pain, try the "cat back arching". On your hands and knees, gently rock your pelvis back and forth. Back pain in labor generally comes from the baby facing the wrong way (your front instead of your back). Rocking like this rubs the baby head in a way that it won't like (but won't hurt him either) and he should turn around, relieving some of the discomfort in your back. If on your hands and knees is to uncomfortable, you can get in the same position on your side, with pillows between you legs, and still do the same movement.... Good luck!!

Your in the early stages of labor. That happened to me too. I was in labor on Sunday and didn't know it until Wednesday and then went to the hospital and had my baby 12:24am. So, you are in labor so don't go far from the hospital that you plan on having the baby at. If you get a clear but thick, kind of, liquid in your panties then that is your water leaking and if so then you need to go to the hospital and they will put you in because it is dangerous to have your water leak because one a dry birth and two if kept unnoticed then could endanger child. So, look for mor signs and you are definitly in labor!!!!!!

Congrats and GOOD LUCK

oh yeah don't forget to breast feed!!! It's the best for the baby even if it's only for a little while!

Ummmmm........ You are either having false labor called Braxton-Hicks contractions or you are most likely in real labor. I should know, I am going to give birth to my baby in August of this year and I have read a lot about pregnancy and labor to be prepared.
Call your doctor and tell him/her about the pain you are having.

What does the pain feel like? The pain in your stomach...does it feel like really really really really bad menstrual cramps? Does the pain start and your abdomen gets rock hard? If that's the case, sounds like a contraction (a REAL one, not a Braxton Hicks one) to me. Start timing the contractions and follow your orders as to what your OB/Midwife/Childbirth class told you to do as to going to the hospital.

When I was pregnant my sciatic nerve bothered me a lot. I sometimes couldn't move. It went from my lower back around to my lower stomach and in the crease of my leg and sometimes down my leg.

Braxton-Hicks pains....practice pains. You're almost ready. You should know the real one, but if those get too bad, go see the doc.
