Optical illusions don't affect your health at all. Nothing happens to your eyes. It's your brain that interpret them as wierd.

I can only answer from my own personal experience. I know that there are some optical illusions that give the appearance of movement from which I get motion sickness. I get the same kind of motion sickness from poorly filmed home movies and from some video games. It starts with vertigo and a headache and quickly progresses to nausea and sweats. I usually have to go lay down in a cool dark room to avoid becoming violently ill. I can stave off some of the symptoms if I am aware of the early signs and take preventative measures such as limiting my exposure. I'm certain there are no long term effects.

I would imagine that they are good for you in a sense, because you are "exercising" your brain.
