We get the best weather during that time. We've had very hot temperatures during October. September is nice too. October is a great time to visit SF - esp if you plan to go to wine country because that is harvest time. Also, the vineyards look so pretty because of the colors - the leaves are golden/red and it makes for some spectacular photography.

You can be pretty sure of good, sunny weather in October. The average temperature is about 68f and the average rainfall is about 1 inch

September and October are referred to as our "Indian Summer". It is usually pretty nice and on occasion hot.
