You need to see your doctor. You are eather having breakthrough bleeding because what you are using is no longer strong enough or you may have built up too much lining in you uterus. When your body does that, you sometimes need a d&c to get the excess out. You could also have something else more sugnificant that needs taking care of. So...see your doctor soon to find out. Good luck to you.

Getting your period while taking birth-control is a risk that you run. I wont say that it is normal but it is not uncommon. It also depends on how long you have been taking the pills and if you just started then that is very normal and your body has to adjust but you should definitely talk to your gynecologist because if it too heavy that can be dangerous and the doctor has pills that can bring your period to a halt.

I would say go to the Doc. He/she should give you a correct answer especially if they know your medical history. I don't take birth control but my mom does, and she gets hers every month but it is light. So again I suggest you take a trip to the Doctors office.

I would not advise looking for medical advice on the internet. Call your OB-GYN, or talk to one of the nurses at the office. There may be nothing wrong, but only they can say for sure.
