Aren't they supposed to advertise the clothes they sell?

Well let's think about who is the target market for Abercrombie... teenage girls and gay men. Sex sells and the marketing gurus at Abercrombie know it.

They advertise what sells and sadly sex sells these days. Their advertisements are what brings people to their stores to buy their products. Its all about appearence when it comes to advertisements and trying to sell your product.... Most companies see it as if it takes a naked girl to sell lipstick lets do it. But the way our country has been going sex sells and thats what they are going to continue to advertise.

To give the impression that if you wear their clothes like a cookie cutter paperdoll, then you will be surrounded by hot, half naked guys forever... Just an advertising gig.

AE! they have good high quality clothing at a good cost. Hollister stuff has a tendency to get holes in it (that's it you're a lady, and their womens denims are not any more that tremendous). Abercrombie is a arguable/extra intense priced save.

Yeah, but the clothes they sell are overpriced and crappy ($60 for jeans that are already torn up!) so they need to distract buyers with half-naked people!

Your right they should be showing their clothes. But that's why young girls and women go to the store the guys on their walls and in their ads are beyond beautiful.

i can see how it might get other people to shop there but it is NOT working for me! i think that they should be advertising their clothes NOT their people!

Because it gets girls to come into their store. Sex sells anything, even if it has nothing to do with the product.
