if you think that you miscarried you should see the DR. you have to have a DNC now which means they have to clean out your insides (you know your uterus and what not) otherwise you could get an infection. As far as the preg. test, i don't know when it would be negative. You have a hormone in your urine that is detected by the test. I don't know how long it takes for that hormone to not be there anymore. My best advice to you is to call the Dr. If you are young and worried about your mom or dad finding out don't call the reg. Dr. They have an obligation to tell you parents or report you to the Department of Children and Family Serivces. They ER has to report you as well. Call a Planned Parenthood or google it on the computer to find a clinic that helps out underage girls. If you are over 18, go to the DR. right away. And if you are married/or dating your DR. can't tell your hubbie/boyfriend anything. Just say that he is involved and knows what is going on but chooses to stay behind that scenes and not be actively involved, but you have his support 100%, this will keep the Dr. and Nurses off your back. GOOD LUCK!!!

your hormone level will decline every 24 hours. You should test negative no longer than 5-7 days, but this will depend on how far along you were and how much hormone your body has created.
I'm curious about why you would want to still continue to test positive...or if you're simply wanting to use this as a means to tell if you're no longer pregnant.

It can take weeks or even months for your hormone levels to drop back down to normal after a miscarriage. It all depends on how far along you were and when the miscarriage actually began.
Sometimes the levels can drop extremely fast and other times they can take a long time.
If you are getting you quantative hcg levels tested, you can get the results from your doctor and then you will have a better understanding of how fast the levels are dropping.

It would take time, because your hormone levels would have to return to normal (it would take even longer if not everything had left your body). You really need to see a doctor before a pregnancy test would show anything. Then you'll be able to stop worrying, and they can make sure that you don't get an infection or anything.

Why don't you just go to the doc. If you thing you miscarried you should really see your ob/gyn. You may need a d n c or something. The doc can usually tell by doing a blood test. I don't know about a regular preg test.

I think it takes a couple weeks? Or maybe until your cycle restarts? I dont know. I lost one so early that the test results kept coming back with a weird marking. Turns out that happens once in a while. It went away in a couple days when i retested.

for the test to go back to negative the hormone levels have to drop. it could take days or weeks.
you should go to your dr to make sure that you did miscarry and there is no tissue left to get infected.

When this happened to me it took 7 days before the test changed and about two weeks until I stopped bleeding.

Mine turned negative before the miscarriage even started.
Sometimes it wont turn negative if you have fragments left in the uterus or you have a molar pregnancy.
I would suggest that someone see a Dr. if they think that they have had one.
