I missed the beginning of yesterday's show and didn't see Star Jones announcement. Now she is not there today. Does anyone know what is going on?

The producers did not renew her contract an dthey all agreed topretend that Star was leaving on her own. They made an arrangement for her to "announce" her leaving to everyone on The show this upcoming Thursday. Star chose to do it yesterday, which shocked everyone, including the producers and Barbara. After that, they asked her not to come back at all, even though she was supposed to stay til mid July.

I heard from my mom that Star Jones quit. it was a surprise to everyone even Barbara Walters. I don't know why she isn't there today. My belief is she is quitting because Rosie O'Donnell is replacing Meridith Viera. I believe Rosie has said some things about Star's weight loss??

Star jones anounced she is leaving. She says she feels she was fired because they didnt renew her contract. Rosie has nothing to do with it they say

They (ABC) did not renew her (Star Jones) contract for this coming season. And it is well known that she and Rosie Odonnel have butt heads a few times.
So in essence she was fired.

She'll be leaving in July.She was kinda fired,it wasn't her idea to quit the show.But her and Rosie don't get along anyway.

yes she is gone. she is going to reality tv. some show about making home purchases. she decided to leave because of the conflict between herself and rosie odonnel. word has it that gayle king (oprah winfrey's best friend) could be taking her place.
