Of course we all can't give 1.5 billion dollars a year to charity, but does this generous contribution inspire you to give? If so to what charity and why?

His gift is inspirational and I will donate. I think his reasons for choosing to give to the Gates' are good ones and will make me think twice about what I donate to whom. Being held accountable w/o jumping through too many hoops is not a bad idea. By thinking through the process, hopefully the little I have to give will help as much as possible.

No I will not be giving money to charity but do give items to Hospice ! I hope the money donated to charity by Mr. Buffett wil be used here at home (USA) as well to help overseas children. The USA is in need of all the help they can receive. Many children and adults are abused and go hungry every day right here also.
Thank you Mr. Buffett for all that you can do !

Buffett is only doing this to avoid "death taxes" - if he really wanted to do something towards donating to charity - he could have done it years ago, when he also had "billions."

He and Gates - and others they can collect, have a "scheme" going on......don't you ever listen to the news - totally?

I have always believed in giving back. My mother passed away from Parkinson's related disease called PSP, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. This is a terrible disease similar to ALS and
Parkinson's. It is somewhat rare, and not well known. I would
like to be able to donate a ton of money and raise awareness for the PSP society.

Actually, he should be inspiring the overpaid actors/actresses and athletes to donate great amounts of money to charity.

We should all be inspired regardless to help others. However, it is right that he is trying to avoid estate taxes, otherwise he would have done it sooner in his life. He should not be commended, he still kept billions for him and his family. Not so commendable that he did not leave all of it to them, big deal so did others, think Getty, and others.

Warren Buffet inspires me to be pissed off. Why didn't he pay off the debt of school loans for Americans? :-)
