Dont listen to these people! I drive a lexus lx470 with a similar engine size and I use regular despite its demand for premium. My car now has 150,000 miles on it and still runs as well as the day I bought it. While there are some small decreases in performance, it will not be noticed unless you take the car to the track often. As for an engine malfuntion, knocking and wha not is not a concern for a sophisticated engine such as yours. Also Road and Track and Motor Trend staff give the same opinion as I have.

yes and no, Yes- only if there is no premium gasoline available, then u may add a mixture of regular gas in addtion to the premium requried. No- according to Mercedes Benz, they do not recommend running any mercedes benz under regular gas, due to the low octane in regular gas, mercedes engines are complex and require alot of energy to run, thus premium gas (92 octane). They say if there is no premium gas then u may add a little to the gas tank.

Your car has a knock sensor on it that can give a false reading if you use regular gas. You may not notice it at first but over time it could cause more problems. The sensor is to keep the car from misfire-firing and low octane fuel burns slower so the sensor may try to up the amount of fuel or change the spark time to correct it.
If it adds more fuel you'll end up burning the catalytic converts out and that is expensive to replace.

I would check with the owner's manual on this one. Most cars run efficiently with regular unleaded, as it has been proven thru consumer reports that the grade of gas isn't really important, unless of course it's a high performance vehicle. Some European models though, are DIESAL only and putting regular gasoline in it will damage it.

My boyfriend tried that..after a mutually as, the overall performance of the automobile become terrible. It become very slow whilst in comparison with how super and rapid it oftentimes runs. And it become observed with this very loud knocking from the engine. We tried discovering to be sure with regards to the finished familiar and top rate gas element yet we've been given no the place (so secretive are not they?!) If the automobile is reported to have top rate gas put in, I advise you do this because of the fact even although you're paying extra and definite, gas fees are severe..yet you would be much extra useful off interior the long-term. stable success ! EDIT: additionally, motives why it rather is top rate gas purely is as a results of the fact in Europe, being that the vehicles are built there...there is not any such element as familiar gas, purely top rate so the automobile is built to run on top rate gas purely.

Nope gotta put premium in it. Mostly it depends on what has gone into the tank when it was first purchased. If cost is the issue you can buy octane boost at most any auto parts store or gas station.

Not a good idea. You can use regular in an emergency, but don't drive with a heavy foot while regular is in the tank. You can do very bad things to your valves and head gasket with low octane fuel.

yes you can but it will just ruin the overall performance of your car... why save on the small percentage in the cost? and to think that you are able to buy a MB S420
