Yes, it is safe. if a woman in her sixties or seventies can have a healthy baby then so could you.
You also have to think about what comes with having a baby at that age:
-when she/he turns 18 then you'll be 48-51-could you handle that?
-the cost of a baby-food, clothing, shelter, daycare
-time consuming-there is no more alone time
-you are totally responsible for the child
-if you are married or involved with someone then there is no alone time.. unless there is someone you could trust greatly with your child and if there is someone willing to care for your child for as long as an hour, day, weekend, week... you know vacation
-you have to have pacients
So, honey if you could say you are willing to give up the single non-attached life of your own, then GO FOR IT but if not then dont do it until you are ready!!! Do everything you possibly can before you have a baby so you dont have any regrets because there's no turning back....

Well, safe is a very open-ended question. If you mean safe for you, yes it is.
Now, if you mean for the child, this is different. As we get older, the risks for the child to develop Downs Syndrome greatly increases. So does the possibility of a troubled pregnancy. Case in point, my wife and I are 40-"ish" she just miscarried at 10 weeks. The really tough part wasn't losing a child, (my 3rd), but having to watch her suffer and not being able to help other than support her.
Sorry, I got kind of passionate there. Anyway, below is a link to an Organization that has helped us/me in the past. It is a very good resource. There are also plenty of on-line support groups for this.
Hope this helps!

yes, it is safe to have a baby between 30-33. I am a Special Education teach with my Master's Degree, and all of my SPED books say that you don't experience a higher risk level until after the age of 35. Just make sure you take care of yourself before (prenatal vitamins) and during your pregnancy!!! GOOD LUCK!

My mom had myself and my sister at 33 and 35. she is turning 60 this fall and although my sister has given her many a grey hair there was nothing wrong with having kids at that age. It is just the longer you wait, 35 and up especially you run a higher risk of possible birth defects, not saying that just because you have a child at 35 it is going to have a birth defect, many happy healthy babies are born to mothers in their 30's.
Good luck.

30-33 is not old. It's perfectly fine. But if you are concerned, check with your doctor. Make sure to be under a doctors care during your pregnancy also. Women can have healthy babies in their 40's also!

Yes! I had my first child when I was 30 and my second when I was 32. My children are both healthy and my body is almost back to the shape I was before. My OB says that you're a high risk pregnancy if you're over 35.

It is not a question of safety or otherwise.
You are in your late thirties.
Before thirty (between 18 and 25) is almost safe period.
Now, it may cause some problem to you for a natural child birth, because of the change in vaginal muscles. But, now-a-days, Forceps delivery, Cesarean surgery, so on and so forth are available. Consult a Gyneacologist and get his/her advise. You can have baby, till you get menopause.

Yes it is very safe. I am about to give birth to my 1st baby in August and I am 34 yrs. old. I did have a miscarriage in Feb. 2005 with my very 1st pregnancy but it wasn't because of my age.
