Most law schools have a community clinic of some sort that can give basic advice or at least point you in the right direction. Also, your local bar association usually can point you to a community legal service for basic legal assistance. You notice my use of the word basic. If your legal issue is anything out of the ordinary, then you will have to be willing to pay for the consultation and assistance.

Any law school usually has a "Legal Aid" chapter, otherwise call the local bar association and ask.
Good luck.
