My niece had trouble with congestion at night. They found it was her adnoids. I would talk to your dr and find out maybe if it's just something to do with what she is sleeping on. Do you have stuffed animals in her crib? If so, take them out. Leave nothing in her crib except a sheet, blanket, and her mattress bumper (if you have one). It could be the drainage is going into her nose if she's sleeping on her back. I can never remember which position is safest for babies, I don't think it's their stomach. I would call and ask your dr. See if you can prop her up on one side, and have her sleep on that side for a while. I did that with my son, because I was worried about SIDS. He's 13 now LOL! Good Luck! Hope everything goes well!

It is perfectly fine to lay a baby on it's side at 8 weeks. On the stomach is the position that is not good.
Congestion might be a sign of allergy to the formula or to something else. Definitely consult with your pediatrician.

With an eight week old baby you can't go wrong by asking a medical doctor about the situation. Why would you leave it in the hands of people you don't even know? Spend a little less time on the computer and a little more time being a good parent.

first off I would not suggest putting her on her stomach to sleep. here they used to actually put on some of the pampers diapers "back to sleep" as a reminder to always lay your baby on their back to sleep, once they can roll back and forth that is different.
It could be a bedroom related allergy, or something somewhere else in your home and because you have the ac on the windows are closed and creating recycled air. Try having a osilating fan in her room if you have one and point it away from her just to keep the air moving in her room, also you might want to turn the ac down at night if you don't already. It is acutually suggested that people should turn off the ac at night and just open windows and use fans. It is less of a draw on hydro for you and creating a cross breeze will help bring in fresh air.
Good luck.

My daughter was the same way! My husband had to stop sleeping with a fan, we got a humidifier and her doctor put her on prevacid- didn't know this but acid-reflux can cause congestion- that combination worked for us.
Good luck I know it is miserable to have a baby that can't breathe- have you tried the nasal aspirator? It can help but it will make your baby scream!

It is your baby's intolerance to both fan and A/C. The baby develops allergic ENT problem. Through the period, the baby may develop tolerance, slowly. This happens in this world of unnatural environment. Take the advise of a Children Specialist (A Dr.with MBBS and DCH). He will give you proper advise and treatment to your Baby. Some immunisation therapy is required.

maybe its too cold for her. Just because its not cold for you it does not mean the same for her. Babies are very fragile and have very few fat and can get cold more easily than an adult. you can do with the a/c on but turn the ceiling fan off and see if this helps. If not then turn the a/c off and just leave the fan on. Remember always that its a baby not an adult all this will change as the babie gets older.

my baby had the same problem. one thing, don't run a fan the direct air can be harmful and if there is dust its going to make the congestion worse. try elevating the head of his/her crib. i put blocks of wood about 2 inches thick under the headboard of my sons crib. you might also try vicks vapor rub. if any of this sounds good you should ask you baby's doctor before trying it. also don't lay him/her on the stomach.

Elevate your baby’s head if he is stuffed up and congested. You can do this by putting a pillow or two under the crib mattress at one end.

It could be allergies. Do you have an antimicrobial cover on the mattress in the baby's bed? You can try a humidifier, checking for mold, etc.
