Ask Canada. They seem to be doing just fine, and their citizens have guaranteed health care. Note that I said CITIZENS.

I beleive a mix of socialism is a MUST for any country that wants to progress and grow.

A purely capitolistic country, like the Neocons want, creates just 2 classes that are too far apart to be anything but the ultra-wealthy and the very poor (slaves).

With socialism added, classes become more evenly distributed, the handicapped and those that can't take care of themselves aren't going to be lying, dying in the streets.

I don't beleive any one type of political structure works well, but a mix is what societies need.

No! No ideology in the world is responsible for more death and destruction than socialism (Hundreds of millions).

You would think after this much time and history people would learn.

People that promote disasterous socialism are either those in power in government (as it transfers power unto them) AND persons who are stupid, lazy and/or unmotivated who have come to terms with their own failure in life and wish to punish those that work hard, educate themselves and achieve greatness.

Socialism makes the dream of being wealthy impossible, it eliminates all motivation and eventually industry winds down to persons doing minimums. The quality and availability of everything diminishes (including health care). Life becomes drab and common.

Eventually, people revolt and the government has to introduce laws and policing. It is very hard to get out of. Look at socialist nations and then look at the USA before these socialist ideals started creeping in mid-20th century.

Socialism (modern-liberalism) is bad in every sense.

Socialism does not work, it stiffles the drive that we have to do better, and create better. Doctors for example in socialized countries very rarely create a new or better procedure, because it does them no good, no matter what you make the same amount as the Doctor that does nothing.

Only those who do not understand what socialism means and the results of such an actions. It reminds me of a friend who went off to Europe to complete her PhD in world peace. Often she spoke of the "rich" not paying their fair share. Now, that same lady 5 years after her completion of her degree's and fully employed...........well, she is not so sure ........she complains all the time about high taxes...........
