That's the question I ask myself every time I hear a story on this. Leaking secret information during war time is TREASON and punishable by DEATH!

I know all the libs out there love to make Bush look bad and thwart his every attempt to do what's best for this country (perhaps even to their own demise), but this is too far. They don't want to believe that terrorism is real because Bush has done such a good job that we haven't been hit again.

Do they realize they may once again be shooting themselves in the foot? If we have another big terror attack right before the next election, who do you think will win - the Dems or the Reps? People will vote for their safety and the safety of their children regardless of their other political beliefs, and the Republicans are the ones who will keep us safe. You can't negotiate with a terrorist. They won't be happy until everyone converts to Islam and lives by their stone-age rules.

Wake up people!!!

Because, first there is freedom of the press. Secondly, no one got away with the Valerie Plume leak. Our Government leaks sensitive material to suit it's own agenda and squells like a stuck hog when the tables are turned.

I'm all for that. In other wars people just used good old common sense and patriotism. such as loose lips sink ships. That concept seems to have gone out the window in this day and age. I bet if we get attacked again the NY Times building will be the first to burn down. Or should I say the NY JiHad Times.
I heard last time that they (weighed) the importance of the story over the safety of the country and decided it was worth it!?. Boy that made me feel warm and cozy all over!!!!!!!

The leak will be prosecuted. The NY times is covered under freedom of the press. Though anyone who continues to subscribe to them is un-american. Watch Tony Snow tonight on The Oreilly factor. We will get some answers then.

Good answer bharris44. This is not a matter of free speech, this is a matter of fighting terrorist and saving American lives. This should be investigated and let the chips fall as they may. For me, even if it's merely the N.Y. Times' showing very bad judgement and no treason, I wouldn't wipe myass with their sorry commie paper.

Whoa with the generalizations there sparky. possibly Cheney or Scooter should be charged with treason yet no longer the total social gathering. The Wilsons would have project if no longer discover it no longer accessible to sue the total social gathering for the misdeed of one or 2 human beings.

I believe the Justice Department is looking into this anti-American action by the New York Times. It is treason and they should be punished.

I totally agree with this, I am all for freedom of speech, but I believe a line should be made when national security and lives are endangered. Plus the media in the us is so biased and scandalous. I cant stand the media here and what they have done to the moral of our troops.

because its a slippery slope... if this is considered treason, then it will bring up other leaks that could also be treason. Freedom of speech gets tested

Ask Robert Novak why he isn't in prison for leaking Valerie Plame's name on CNN. I'm sure he's quite the expert on how journalists stay out of jail after leaking sensitive info. :P
