I'm so sick of the fear-mongers in Washington!

I am a former North Korea analyst for the U.S. Navy. I am here to tell you that the TD2 missile not only cannot reach the continental U.S., but only works in theory. Why? It has never been tested.

And it cannot be tested. Why?

There is only one RETS (Rocket Engine Test Stand) in all of North Korea that is large enough to host such a test. Said RETS was conveniently destroyed in an explosion sometime around 2003. The source of said explosion is officially unknown.

However, while working at the Korea desk at JICPAC Hawaii, I took an interesting phone call from Whiteman AFB. The details of the call I am not at liberty to reveal. However, the results have already been outlined.

Do the research:

I suggest we come up with a way to eliminate the threat of ICBM's impact (can we say the ABM sheild?). However, if we do this, it will take zero time at all to find annother delivery system....how porous are our borders? Stick a nuke on a boat and set it off in a major harbor perhaps? Too easy, and it is not the coast gaurds fault if they can never visually inspect every container that hits our waters, it would take waaaaaayyyy too many people for that. Maybe in a pickup truck, and deliver it to the White House? This is not a new theory, read a few books, and you will see that. So, the answer is to let them have their missiles, after all, don't we? Then, if they do something stupid with them, we kick their collective arses. Not the civilian population, the people responsible for the decision to do something stupid......

You have to understand that this is a very scary situation. The little man over there that rules the country is literally " a couple of beers short of a six pack" and no matter whether we handle it with sanctions or with diplomacy is this guy decides to snap we are on the short end. A few years back they had what they called a "Star Wars" program where satellites were sent up and if missiles were deployed these satellites could destroy them, but I actually think this was done away with because we didn't want to step on anyone's toes. Maybe that should be looked into again.

Our elected officials need to set up a visit of North Korea and talk with the countries leaders . Then let the Korean officials visit our country, that may avoid our perplexing misunderstanding's that seem to happen when a country develops missiles. Our country has the ability to view the entire planet. Why don't we offer some of our technological advances to give the Koreans a reason to help save our world not destroy it.

Why is America the watchdog for the world? Bush's response to North Korea's development and testing of these missiles has to be joined with responses from other civilized countries around the world - I.E. trade embargos, etc.
Also, the US military presence in South Korea needs to be on high alert.

No, they probably will not launch the missiles. The retaliation would be too great. President Bush should sit down with our allies and negotiate a solution, without the threat of war. It is common knowledge that our missile interceptive system is faulty and probably would not destroy an incoming missile.

All that can be done is to use diplomatic means to contain the
situation-persuade North Korea it's not in their interests to get
aggressive with those things. Suggest trade embargoes and the
like if necessary. Military options are definitely out as the North
Koreans have the largest standing army in the world.

If I were Bush I would not attempt to shoot the missile down, that to me is an act of war. I would try very hard to get North Korea to negotiate economical means, such as food ,medical, agriculture, etc.And if that does't work ,sanctions.

start making an effort to keep peace with North Korea and helping them understand that if they launch a nuclear weapon the chemicals don't just stay in one place... it goes into the atmosphere and travels "around the world" and eventually they would be effected by the nuclear chemicals themselves, therefore, no one wins in the long run.

These missles "supposedly" are only capable of a light payload and would not be suited for a direct assault on the US. I think the best solution is to maintain fair and friendly trade relations with the North Koreans, so it would hurt them more overall if they did attack.
