I used to love hip-hop, love it to death. But now, with the addition of these new artists that I classify as ''hip-pop'', i want to know what people think was the source of its downfall. Beyond the fact that the new present artists (apart from Kanye) talk alot of crap, I still believe it was 50 cent after the get rich die tryin' album .

in my opinion i think it has alot to do with the whole "LOOK" thing...
back in the day when hip-hop was real music the people didnt all look like glamor right out the box.... most of them were from the streets rappin and singin about real things they faced...real music you know what i mean. Now days.. the only thing that people look at is the image of a person...if they have the right body that cute face...i quote one song for the girl icon..."...cute face slim waist and a big behind.." or for a guys image...buff rollin with dough and the hott new gear. Whether they can sing or not they look good in the videos...so they give them a record deal! Which takes away from the actual talent.

It was a fad. It will come back retooled, with a little less impact thatn before, just like country , metal, or pop. Usually someone gets a hot formula, examples White rapper, or dancing boy bad or grunge. See if you feel this way in 6 months
