When I was a teenager I had the worst acne in school. I tried all the products in the store: oxy, clearasil, everything. I washed my face three times a day and ate well.

I still had terrible acne. People still made fun of me and told me "go use an Oxy pad, dude!" or "maybe you should wash your face once in a while." It was terrible. It seemed there was nothing I could do to get rid of it. On the TV shows, the characters were complaining if they had one pimple before a date. One pimple! The commercials portrayed models upset because they had one or two pimples, and showed how their products cleared it up. I would have been THRILLED to have only one pimple.

If this sounds anything like you, there's good news. Go see a dermatologist. They have drugs and treatments that are vastly better than anything you'll get at Safeway. They can and do clear up acne every day. They never got rid of all my acne, but it got much, much better, down to normal teenage levels.

Good luck.

You need to clean your face twice a day with a cleanser for your face type (oily, dry, etc). Don't assume that because you have zits your skin is oily. Use a targeted cream (like Oxy) for your zits and if you have long hair where it up at night when you sleep.

Drink at least 2 qt. of water a day. This helped my 14 year old son tremendously. You can also clean your face twice a day with rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball to degrease.
