Mary Kay has incredible foundations. For concealing wrinkles, I find it's best to use a liquid. For normal/dry skin you want to try the Full-Coverage Foundation, and the Medium Coverage for combination/oily skin. Another thing that helps is the Facial Highlighting Pen which goes on over the foundation to help conceal any fine lines that may still be present. I am a make up artist and I get this question all the time this is what I think her are some ideas:
To even out your skin's appearance and create the illusion of flawless skin, head to the cosmetics counter. The right foundation can do wonders.
Steps:
1. Consider your skin type. If you have oily skin, stick with an oil-free formula. If you have drier skin, select a creamier formula that offers moisturizing benefits.
2. Decide what type of look you'd like to achieve. Foundations can offer sheer to heavy coverage and finishes that range from satiny to matte.
3. Test the colors of your preferred formula on your jawline, which offers the truest facial coloring. Any foundation will look slightly darker in the bottle, so keep this in mind when assessing your options.
4. Blend in the foundation gently with a makeup sponge. The foundation should disappear into your skin. If you find you're between shades, blend two colors together, or keep looking for a brand that offers the perfect shade.
5. Bring a hand mirror along so you can view your options in natural light.
6. Look for yellow-toned foundation or tinted moisturizer if you're Caucasian or Asian; Hispanics should opt for foundation or tinted moisturizers with yellow-orange undertones. If you are African-American, it's a good idea to use light, medium and dark shades of foundation to allow for different gradations of color on different parts of your face.
7. Remember that you have plenty of options to choose from, so if you don't find a good color match, keep looking.
Tips:
For sheer, no-nonsense coverage, consider using a tinted moisturizer.
Look for the many extras some foundation formulas offer, such as sunscreen or ingredients that hide fine lines.
Hope that helps.

Hey Jackie,
I know what you mean! I'm 51 and had the same issue with the pores and tiny lines under my eyes. So, I tried Bare Minerals and Sheer Cover foundations.
I will NEVER use liquid foundation again! I LOVE the Bare Minerals - light, sheer, beautiful. Doesn't contain preservatives, talc, oil, fragrance or other chemicals. I get compliments all the time about how pretty my makeup is - and that's even when I'm not wearing eye makeup.
Sheer Cover is okay, but it is heavier and doesn't give as clean and sheer a coverage as the Bare Minerals. Check them out and see which one you prefer. You'll be really pleased with the results!

I have found that I like Avon's perfect match. It is far less expencive than Mary Kay. It gives great coverage and does not clog pores. I know a few women in thier 40's and 50's who use this foundation and they have no compaints. Oil of Olay has a nice product as well that I think has a formula that tightens elastisity in you skin. You may want to try that as well.

My mother is 58 and I tried the MaryKay full coverage foundation on her and it looked good, but she also uses the timewise skin care system. She told me that the it was the best foundation she ever tried and that all the other foundations made her skin look fake. Mary Kay's foundation blends in very well with your skin, I use the medium covereage foundation and it feels like I'm not wearing any makeup.

First of all, you don't want anything that settles into your lines. That is why I am such a big Mineral Makeup afficianado! My mother, grandmother and aunt use it, as well as myself. It's easy to adjust the amount of coverage you want, and most companies that offer Mineral makeup have luminescent finishers that really diffuse light, blurring out the appearances of lines. I highly recommend you try Mineral Makeup, I think you will be very pleased! The brand I use is Aromaleigh, but there are several good ones out there. My mom makes her own! So go visit Aromaleigh.com and try it out (they have samples too!), I know you'll never go back to liquid foundation ever again!

Mary Kay has awesome foundations.. that range from sheer to full coverage, the price of the foundation is up to the individual consultant. You also have a try before you buy with any Mary Kay product... not to mention you get to say you have your own beauty consultant at your convience

I have been seeking all of my life for the right foundation too. The best one in the market that also heals and repairs the skin is Prescriptives Flawless Foundation. I have been wearing it now for over a month and my skin looks firm and beautiful. Try it. I am certain that you will love it-

Most large department stores like Belk or Rich's or Macy's have free make-up makeovers and they will help you choose the one that is right for you. Clinique carries a good foundation. I am 43 also and I use Clinique Superbalanced make-up and I am very happy with it.
