Yes, and the reasons are varied making the issue more complex than it ought to be. This should be about simply protecting a native peoples from a corrupt government that is more insurgent than native as this genocide occurs. However, the UN is increasingly stagnant, the US is currently busy and considering taking on other projects that affect our security (whether one believes this is financial or physical I will leave up to the reader), Europe, who like the UN , is inept and lazy and the rest of the world where most see the problems in their own backyards. All of this plays on on a stage where people increasingly feel that what goes on elsewhere is none of their business and where fewer and fewer peoples are willing to defend Christians. Because as much as it is forgotten Sudan is a christian nation being attacked by Muslim insurgents and many do not want to be seen as attack the Muslim world any more than is necessary. For better, (but More likely worse) the world will stay silent on what is truly an atrocity.

Because the Sudan is a closed country, it is easy to ignore the atrocities occurring there. I have watched the papers for years about the wars going on there (my son spent some time in the country with our Embassy), and it is totally ignored by the media. We need to be more aware of what is going on in the world, if we are ever to help it become a better place. There should be humanitarian aid, however; military decisions must come from within.

I would like to get more information on darfur.

I guess the media, and government are kinda shhh on it ... Some media do spend time covering it, but then it disappears off the radar ... while Iran/Iraq steel the spotlights ...

The world is not necessarily silent.

Its leaders are, and in no small part to the mass media.
