1987. So many copies printed of most comics around that time that they are not yet hard to find. Probably only a couple dollars, and then only if it looks brand new. Do a search on e-bay for the specific issue, and you should be able to see what other people are getting for the issue.

The value of a comic depends on several things:

Physical condition of the comic
Story contained in it
How many of them are around
Who wrote/illustrated it
What character(s) the comic is about
Importance of what happens in the story (someone died, someone left, other major thing happening)

Since you say it was published in 1987, I did a check at the site below. The issues #424 - #436 would have been from 1987.

There are usually 12 issues a year published with most main stream comics, however, both DC and Marvel did twice-monthly stints at several times through out the '80s and '90s with the popular titles. So, there could have been as many as 18-24 issues out that particular year.

Most of the issues from 1987, in fact, up into the early 90s (issue #424 - #498) in '9.4' condition (in other words, Mint/New Mint- like new) are valued around $2.50, with a few at $5.00

The first link below is a great place to get comic book prices, the second link is the page I referrenced all the figures above.
