You answered ur own question!?! Anyways, ya he was a freedom fighter, probably the most prominent leader of the
Indian freedom struggle, coz hes called the Father of the Nation.
Thats what Bapu means.."Father", its a Hindi word. He advocated non-violence, and inspired Martin Luther. God bless both of them.
