I feel that President Bush made the right decision to go into Iraq. We can't leave until the job is done and the Iraqi people are living as peacefully as possible. His father left the job unfinished 15 years ago. If he hadn't maybe we wouldn't have to be there now. I pray for our president and our troops. I don't like war, but sometimes it's necessary.

I strongly believe that he exaggerated the reason for invading...WMD, where are they?? Now we are stuck. It is Vietnam all over again. Who are we to say that democracy is the way to go?? Did you not notice how well the Soviet Union was operating as a communist country? Now that they are democratic what is happening? Their economy has bottomed out. Even if we do succeed at making Iraq a democracy, none of their neighbors are democratic so what will happen next with that? Not only that, but look at how much everyone in that part of the world hates the US, now with a new Iraq being a buddy of the US, how will the local countries feel?
I believe that a democracy works well for the US, but not necessarily for all countries. The US needs to stop being the world policemen and start spending some money here at home to take care of the homeless, the abused & neglected, the poor & hungry, just to name a few problems we have here.
First and final answer about Bush invading Iraq: He's finishing what "Daddy" couldn't or wouldn't.

I think Saddam Hussein wanted the war in the hopes all the middle east countries would unite against the US. WE did the right thing & the President is doing a very good job at a most difficult time in our history. Rest assured this is not going away & the next president will also have to deal with the fanatics. He'll also get ripped because that is what we do. Freedom of Speech is well exercised by Americans. We may disagree with each other, but Americans come together when things are at their worst. We will overcome these scumbags & then go right back to disagreeing with each other. They don't get it & never will.

I think the real question we need to ask ourselves, is where is the Middle East getting all this money to make trouble for us? Most people seem to ignore the fact that not only are we funding our side of the war with our tax dollars, we are also flooding money into the middle east by buying so much oil. Did you know that even though the US makes up only 4% of the population, we consume 1/4 of all the world's oil. If Bush really wanted to put an end to this war, the government should be investing more money in alternative fuel sources and renewable energy.

If President Bush had the communications abilities of his courage and his heart, it's possible that we wouldn't be having this discussion. Unfortunately the people that are saying the war isn't being won are the same people undermining every effort to win it. It's as if the New York Times and its supporters think the U.S. shouldn't have ANY covert operations. It's unfortunate that we have people in this country who don't want our president, an American president, to do well. These people are so upset about "stolen elections" that they would Like to see us fail in Iraq as Bush's "comeuppance". Look, I'm not married to President Bush or the Republican Party, but we are doing the right thing in Iraq. Our men and women on the front line think so, and so do I.

I feel that the War in Iraq is a big mistake. Yeah, it is true that people were miserable under Saddam's rule, but more innocent people are dying now that he is gone. We had no right to overstep our boundaries and intervene in a situation that did not concern us. The major problem with the War is that Bush isn't handling anything. He sent troops over to Iraq and that is where his plan ended. We have no exit strategy and no forseeable end to this mess that we have gotten ourselves into. Bush has made a huge mistake and now the world hates us for it.

Considering the fact that the Bush administration lied to get us into a war that Bush himself said he wanted in '99, I think we should have never started what is and will always be remembered as the worst mistake in U.S history. On top of that Rumsfeld has done such an incompetent job running the war, he should have been fired long ago. The fact that Bush refuses to fire him calls this Presidents own competence into question.

I feel we have done the job we set out to do, that was to get Sudam Hussein. We have done just that. We also trained there people as police officers and get their government on track and I think we should return our heroes now, and thank them for a job well done. President Bush sent our servicemen and women to do a job, this job was completed and know he should swallow his pride and return our troops. Bush has made a mess to our Social securiety, medical health and so many other issues. He is follower in his fathers footsteps so that he can make him proud, BUT what about our country. The money we are spendingat war should be well spent here on our own american people

I am disgusted by it. I think Bush is a poor leader with some powerful spin doctors.
The initial reason for invading Iraq (against the UN vote I might add) was to eradicate WMDs. Then suddenly the war morphs into this Iraqi freedom campaign.
The USA has become the bully on the playground. And we all know what happens to bullies. They end up friendless and hated. Looks like the USA is well on its way on that count.

I think the war was going to happen anyways.
Now that we're going to have to deal with iran and n korea, I feel that our President has done a wonderful job. He's helped iraq start a parliment, a democracy where the people decide whats best for their country.
He has not been wishy washy, he has stayed the course despite some negitive feedback. But I feel safe, for now. Because the war is over there and not over here. It was bound to happen, in preemptive terms the president has done a wonderful job, has got votes and support from congress and the senate. Without their support the war would not be happening.
