You will have the best chance of conceiving if you have sex once a day if his sperm count is in the normal to high range, and every other day if he has a low to low-normal count. If you don't know, you have to pick one and hope for the best. If you've been trying for a few months, try picking the other one and see if it works better.

This is because if he is producing plenty of sperm, every day will give you more opportunities to conceive. But if he's a little low, give him the extra day to produce more. You *don't* need to wait 5 days (as one answerer keeps saying).

Your most fertile days are the 4-5 days before and the day of ovulation. Studies have shown that even in women with regular cycles, ovulation can possibly happen any time, so "timing" of intercourse has never been shown to improve your pregnancy chances. You are probably not improving your chances of getting pregnant if you wait with intercourse until the temperature goes up or the OPK has become positive. You may already have ovulated by that time, and sex after ovulation is unlikely to get you pregnant. Couples who tried to get pregnant were previously told to have sex once every other day during their fertile days. Recent studies have shown that the average couple who is trying to conceive should make love regularly 2-3 times a week, every week because you don't know exactly when ovulation happens. In addition, you may improve your chances if you have sex once a day (as long as his sperm are OK) during the fertile 4-5 days prior to, and the day of, ovulation. In those rare circumstances when the man does not have enough sperm (oligospermia), the old rule of once every other day still holds true.

It is true that having sex everyday lowers a man's sperm count but it is also true that doctors generally only tell you to have sex every other day if they know your man has a somewhat low sperm count to begin with. If you are worried and really want to get pregnant then try having sex every other day but make sure that you definitely have sex a couple of times during the three days prior to ovulation. Remember sperm can live for 3-5 days so timing it RIGHT before ovulation is key. Good luck.

Well, women are only fertile for about 5 days nearing ovulation, on ovulation day, and sometimes the day after. Look for cervical fluid that is like an eggwhite, clear and stretchy. You are most fertile when you have this. It also indicates ovulation is right around the corner.

If your partner has a low sperm count, have sex every other day of your fertile time. If he doesn't, or you are not sure if he does, go ahead and have sex everyday of your fertile time.

Men's sperm usually only takes 24 hours to replentish.

Take care and good luck.

Unless there is a problem with your guys' swimmers, I have been advised to try every day around ovulation. Just have him save up for 3 days before you start. Sperm is regenerated about every 3 days. Old ones don't swim as well. And you don't want to deplete the supply before you are fertile. Good Luck and take your prenatal vitimins!

To get pregnant you must have sex on a day that your eggs are being released. It is not the number of times that matter. It is how you do it that is important.

After the 3rd day from the day that menses started put a thermometer into your mouth and check your body temperature every morning before you start turning in bed. The best time is at about 4 a.m. Maintain a chart. You will find that on one day the body temperature drops from 1/2 degree to one degree. This is the day that your eggs are being released. If you want to get pregnant this is the day that you must have sex. Tell your husband to ejaculate on his inward thrust so that the sperms will shoot deep inside.

After having sex you must stay in bed for about 30 mins with your knees bent up with a pillow under your buttocks so that the sperms will not pour out - to enable them to travel up.

Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 5 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job.

My doctor told me every other night you don't want to dry up the sperm bank by doing it every night. Plus it can get old! Try every other night from start to finish and then you know you didn't miss ovulation cause it can be tricky sometimes. Yes latoya it does have a lot to do with it cause you can't get pregnant without sperm and if your conception partner has a sperm problem, sex every night can kill your chances of getting pregnant.

well, too much sex can lower his sperm count, so everyday would decrease your chances...
when you force yourselves to have sex, it puts stress on your bodies and minds and stress can also decrease your chances...the best thing for you to do is to just relax and when you feel like making love, make love...but do it for your enjoyment, not for the purpose of procreating...
look at it this way...teenagers have sex and without even trying get pregnant...if you guys just enjoy yourselves and don't stress about it, the next thing you know, you'll be puking your guts out and wondering if it was such a good idea!!! LOL
