Cy Young never won the award named for him. His career spanned the late 1800, early 1900's, he won 511 games while losing more than 300. The Cy Young award is given to the best pitcher ,as voted by baseball writers, in each league. From 1956-1966 there was only one award handed out for all of MLB...Roger Clemens has won the award most, 7 times, Randy Johnson is next with 5.

Cy Young was one of the greatest pitchers the game of baseball has ever had. It is an award named after him to honor his great achievements. Those who win the award are considered the very best pitcher in the league during the year they won it.
I hope this helps.

Well they're not gonna make up an award and name it after a guy who is still playing so it wouldv'e been tough for him to win it. If that were the case it would be the Roger Clemens award. Use your head.
