Why is USA so full of religious fundamentalists?

Europeans are much better educated than Americans. Aside from that, there have been too many wars and conflicts and people killed and distruction in the name of religion that Europeans have learned the stupidity and falicy of State Religions.
When it comes to Christianity... the Europeans had it first and they have learned the hard way that Geezus doesn't put food in their mouths and a roof over their heads.... Americans' are late bloomers when it comes to religion... they are like grade school children arrogantly thinking they have all the answers to the college quizes.
One of the main problems with Turkey being admitted into the EU is the fact that Turkey has Islam as a State Religion and that is viewed with distrust by other EU member States.

Ironically, it's because Europe has always had established churches. (Even today, many European nations have established state religions.) This made it more difficult for other denominations to take root in Europe.
In America, there is freedom of religion, with no established church. This led to a "free market" of religion, where all kinds of crazy and not so crazy denominations and religions sprang up. It's because of the greater religious freedom found in America.

all around them they have a world view because they are surrounded by different states (countries) with different languages, cultures, ideas, and societies, the list goes on.
in america, we are surrounded by states all of the united states with the same background, ideals, and dreams. we have a common government...
one nation under god...
