All you libs - when another attack occurs, you'll be the first to accuse Bush of not doing more. Interestingly, The NYT published an editorial a couple of years ago blasting Bush for not doing something like this. Your myopia amazes me.

"Done with"?

I doubt you've ever read an issue of the NYT.

Look up the definition of investigative journalism, I believe all your answers lie there.

I'd like to see the people who wrote the story, approved the story, and the source hammered big time.

There are a lot of things done by the government covertly that 'might' be used in the wrong way. Now IF the NYT did find out about such an action I might be in favor of them writing a story on that particular act. But even then the specifics should be left out.

There things that go bump in the night. We depend on government to prevent them from happening and bump back when necessary. Nothing is done in government that isn't approved and monitored somewhere.

IF the NYT wants to hammer something that's going to be approved by Congress, talk about the people that are for it and why the program is wrong. That's fine with me. IF the NYT want's to accuse Congress for not monitoring programs enough and letting them get out of hand. That's fine with me too.

One thing is certain. Terrorist will NEVER bomb the NYT. They would be ruining their best source of intel. So yeah, something should be done about all the leaks and those who print them. Let's start with the leaks. Anyone know where we can find a good plumber?

The New York Times should be commended for keeping the public informed. Perhaps another Pulitzer Prize? I only wish they had published the NSA Wiretapping story BEFORE the 2004 election.

If you're really concerned about the leaking of security secrets, then ask about when the White House will be held accountable for outing an undercover CIA operative working on Weapons of Mass Destruction.

Take every editor of The NYT and put them on an abandoned island with Hillary Clinton. We'll solve two of America's biggest problems at one time.

Seriously, isn't there something the FBI can do to them? Sometimes when I read articles I pray no one in the Middle East reads the same thing. Let's get a class-action lawsuit against them.

In this case I feel New Laws need to be passed to handle this type of irresponsible behavior. Make no mistake "We are at war"
and should take appropriate actions to protect our country. It wasn't just the NYT, i think the Washington Post and one other were guilty of the same offense. This crossed the line on responsible journalism and freedom of the press.

Everyone should forget to renew their subscriptions and not buy the paper on the newstands. That would get their attention. Free press may be guaranteed in the Constitution, but irresponsibility is not. We have a lot of men and women serving in dangerous areas right now and if these leaks endanger them, then maybe the families should hold them libel. Our words at times can be more dangerous to the innocents of this world than any bomb.

I think it's laughable that the conservatives want the NYT up on treason. It is the media's FIRST AND PARAMOUNT responsibility to keep the government in check, that is why the founding fathers made it the first ammendment.

It is typical of republicans to want to hand more power to government, and to erode civil liberties.

How sickening that you goose step in time.

EDIT
Hilarious rkrmw... NYT is discredited (BUT BE SURE TO TUNE IN TO FOX NEWS NOW)

LMAO

EDIT 2

God Almighty. You know the US is in serious trouble when the public starts applauding the government for trying to limit their freedoms - and calling for editors and managers to be imprisoned FFS!

How does reporting this info endanger troops serving in Iraq? Please explain, because it absolutely doesn't

What security clearance does the NYT have?

Why not ask the question who in the government is leaking these secrets!!!

I can't believe people still read this rag. Somehow, this left-wing rag is still living off of its past glories. Hopefully, events like this will cause people to see how biased this "paper" truly is.

On my end, I read the NY Daily News. In New York, it is the best paper you can read.

Also, I recommend that people read other news sources, such as informaiton from the FoX News web site.
