Democrats: Hilary looks geared up to run, and she''l have a pretty hefty coffer to run with. Feingold won't make it all the way because he leans too far left. Kerry ran and lost - I don't think he'll get another shot at it. And although Edwards ran with Kerry, he wasn't at the top of the ticket. Ultimately - I think it'll be John Edwards. He might seem like a dark horse now, but both Clinton and Bush didn't start pulling ahead of the pack until they were in the primaries.
Republicans are trickier. It depends on how the war's going. If it starts to go well (doubtful), they'll pick someone pretty conservative. Implying that he will continue where Bush left off. If there's no progress, we haven't pulled out, or worse yet it actually starts to really go downhill, they'll probably pick someone more moderate, like John McCain. He was actually doing well against Bush in the first election. Until Karl Rove stepped in.
I'd like to see them nominate Condaleeza Rice. Wouldn't that be something. Republicans voting for a black woman.
Ultimately - we may not have yet even heard of the people who will be running.

I think Democrats will have a surprise front-runner, similar to 2004 (at this time before the last election, Al Gore was in the lead). My pick, Bill Richardson, the governor of New Mexico. One of the only governors with foreign policy experience, Richardson is popular, charismatic and will run an unconventional campaign. Not to mention his minority appeal (hello blue state Florida). Close second (possible VP, Tom Vilsack of Iowa)
Republicans have an even wider field open, especially with the question of how low can Bush go. Condelezza Rice is probably a guarenteed win in a popular election. Any white male votes she loses, she makes up with in women and African-Americans – the only solid Democratic voting blocks. With a nip here and there, she wins Ohio with a margin to spare. Wildcard, Mitt Romney.
Race I want to see – George Allen vs. Mark Warner. The first time opponents run with the same home state.

I don't know about the Democrats....I think it's still too early. I know a lot of people want Hillary but I don't see that happening. John Edwards might run, Evan Bayh, and Russ Feingold. I'm hoping for Barak Obama but as far as I know he doesn't have any plans on running in 2008. As far as Republicans I think John McCain might run again, Condoleeza Rice, Jeb Bush, and Rudy Giuliani.

Democrats will choose either Hillary Clinton (because the think she has the noterity) or will try John Kerry again (because they think he almost won).

Republicans will probably choose Congaleeza Rice if Hillary is chosen. (Just to trump their choosing of a women). If Guilani doesn't agree to run. If not her then maybe Voinivich or some other somewhat unknown (senator or gov) to the country at large.

Mc Cain will never be chosen. He's a nut who the party at large doesn't respect.
