In zoology, a hermaphrodite is an organism of a species whose members possess both male and female sexual organs during their lives. In many species, hermaphroditism is a universal part of the life-cycle. Generally, hermaphroditism occurs in the invertebrates, although it occurs in a fair number of fish, and to a lesser degree in other vertebrates.
Note: The term "hermaphrodite" has historically been used to describe people with ambiguous genitalia or biological sex. The broader term intersexual is often used and is preferred by many such individuals and medical professionals. The term is still used by the pornography industry, though often as a synonym for transsexual, as true human intersexuals are rare.

Among people, no, not true hermaphrodites.
True hermaphrodites are capable of functioning reproductively as both male and/or female.
Most of the hermaphrodites you see in porn are male pre-op transsexuals, probably saving up money for gender reassignment surgery.
There are the inter-sexed, and a few folks with ambiguous genitals, but they can't both impregnate and be impregnated like a true hermaphrodite.
Among animals, yeah, there's plenty of stuff that goes on that is freaky from the perspective of fixed opposite genders.
There's fish that change sexes, going from a reproductively functioning female to a fully operational males.
Snails, slugs and worms are all true hermaphrodites.

no. strictly speaking, a hermaphrodite is someone who has both male and female reproductive organs, so there aren't any actual human hermaphrodites. (though there are hermaphrodites in other species.) however, there are some people who may have one type of sex organ and another type of secondary sexual characteristics. also, there are a few people whose sexual development is way off track, so that they might think they were a girl until puberty and then they suddenly grow a penis. seriously. of course, it's not a full sized or fully functional one, but it turns out that they were genetically a guy the whole time, they just didn't know it. still, that's exceptionally rare. in any case, all of the people that i have just described are called intersexuals, not hermaphrodites.
