You no longer have to be embarrassed when you don't know a certain dance. Learn the steps online, then go out and strut your stuff.

Steps:
1. Go to a search engine like Yahoo or Google.

2. Type in the keywords "dance steps." Add the type if you're looking to learn a certain dance style.

3. Press Enter on your keyboard or click the Search button to submit your query.

4. Click on a site that best suits your interests or needs from the list of search results provided by the search engine.

5. Follow the directions provided by the site to read and learn the dance steps.

6. Click the Back button on your web browser to return to the list of search results and choose another site to explore.

Tips:
Duane's Online Dance Lessons (ddl.duane.damiano.name) provides dance step instruction for the jitterbug, hustle, and cha-cha among numerous others. Follow along with the animated steps.

Study a glossary of dance terms so you'll know what the instructors mean when they tell you to do a certain move.

Remember, practice makes perfect.

I haven't seen anything on-line where you can watch a full course of instruction for a dance.

Sellers of instructional DVDs and videos often offer short clips of just the basic step for each dance, presumably as a hook to get you to buy the DVD. It will at least allow you to see what the step looks like. For example, try www.dancevision.com (clips are associated with many of the beginner DVDs) or www.thedancestoreonline.com

But that's about it, as far as I know.

[Edit, 10 minutes later]

I take it back. Here is a site that offers a fairly extensive list of Swing and Night Club 2-Step lessons (just click on "site map" at the bottom of the home page for the full list): http://www.how2dance.com/
