I'm afraid its a computer issue. Back in the old days, it was easy to adjust the air/fuel mix by simply fiddling with the carburetor needles. Nowadays, EVERYTHING is relayed through a central computer system--that's why so many new cars have a really dainty-feeling gas pedal. You may find someone who knows how to fiddle with GM chips and processor units, but I'm afraid this isn't a DIY weekend warrior job.

Well if it has a carburetor there is usually a screw that allows you to make such adjustments. If it's fuel injection then you would have to reprogram the ecu or purchase an air fuel controller, it's basically a device that tricks the ecu into believing the there is more or less fuel. Another point to consider is why are you trying to adjust the air-fuel ratio? If you don't research you cars parameters you might run it to lean and get detonation or to rich and get back firing.

air fuel ratio is controled by the computer and is not adjustible

the best you can do is a new oxy sensor that is where the computer gets its imput
you may also be able to buy a after market prom memory chip
but you need to keep the stock one to passany emission tests

Your computor adjusts fuel ratio, if your computor is getting wrong info from a sensor(s) or if there is a vacumn/fuel pressure problem then your ratio will be off, if you try to adjust anything the computor will try to adjust it back, is it flooding or lean?

Why do you think of your vehicle is working wealthy? an hassle-free thank you to tell is to envision your spark plugs. if your vehicle is working wealthy that would desire to be a demonstration to look for yet another difficulty. examine for susceptible spark, cracked vacuum hose on the gas tension regulator, plugs, wires, gas filter out, air filter out. changing your gas map does not resolve your actual difficulty and working too lean might desire to reason an excellent kind of problems as properly.

Reprogram the computer.
