Since they use the same wax over and over and possibly the application spoon do you take a chance of getting a disease from a previous client? If yes ...what? ... and if NO.. How can this be possible?

And just what makes you ask such a question? I take it you have worked in these salons, then? Since you KNOW they don't change the wax? C'mon....Rebel.

No. I can't speak for all salons, but I have never seen one use the "same wax" on each person. Once the wax is applied to your skin and removed with a strip, it is discarded. If you mean they dip out of the same wax pot; they should be using a clean applicator each time. Another possibliity is they are using a type of wax that is antibacterial (that's what we use in my salon) so you can use the same applicator with no worries. Also, the waxing table's sheets should be changed after each client, the person performing the service should be wearing gloves, and lastly, if you are just getting a bikini wax, you are still wearing underpants, so no contact is made with and sensitive areas of your body.

No you can't get a STD from the bikini wax. When they dip the stick in the HOT wax, they never use the same one twice. Especially if they are doing the bikini. Also, the wax is hot enough to kill any bacteria that might have gotten in there by accident.

For a STD to be transmitted, there has to be an exchange of body fluids or say, with Herpes, an open sore on the genitals has to come in contact with skin.

Probably not...There would have to be contact with fluid. If I'm not mistaken, most waxers don't use the same wax on everyone. They change containers so that they are sterile to prevent any sort of bacterial infection.
