I was 26 weeks and it was amazing. It was very scary for me though because the reason we had it done was due to low fluid and complications. The picture we got of the baby was just sooooooo neat.

Best wishes! :)

I had one finished at about 32 weeks or so or maybe as it became genuinely fantastic to carry close for absolute reality that i'm having yet another lady, i don't experience it became properly worth $2 hundred only for that. the images weren't as crystal sparkling as they cause them to out to be on the internet web site and in magazines. some parts of the experiment were very cool, i might want to swear she already has her Daddy's nostril, yet he's not so certain. I do have the dvd and a cd finished of images which will pass in her toddler field even as she receives older she may savour them. yet i do not plan to spend that sort of money back if I actually have yet another toddler. As for the safe practices, this is purely sound waves, this is not any diverse than the ultrasound the clinical institution makes use of or the doppler that the physician makes use of at each visit.

I just had this done this week. The old ones look like a skeleton. the 4D looks like a baby. It not as clear as you would hope but, much better than the old ones. I even seen my baby has hair and big lips! But they made me think it was going to be real clear and the examples they show are not typical. they are very clear. The tech said only about 1 in 100 get a real real clear picture. I still think its worth it. Plus there will be no doubt in your mind to the sex of the baby.

I had a 3D/4D ultra sound starting at 24 weeks. I paid $150 for it sense it was my last baby and didn't really get a good descriptive pic till about 32 weeks. But yes, it was fun and worth it I think to see your babies face in there and see how they look. I have yet to have him so I will let ya know if they look like that after birth..lol
I would say go for it!!

Good Luck!

I haven't had one, but I know a fair amount about ultrasound from the kind of work that I do. I think it depends on your insurance as well as your preference. If you can get it for free, why not try it? You may get a more interesting picture of your baby. If you have to pay for it and the regular 2D ultrasound is free, I would stick with 2D. You're not necessarily getting more diagnostic information from the 3D, it's just prettier/gives you a more interesting picture.

I had it done for my 20 week & 32 week ultrasounds... they're great I loved seeing my baby in a 3d picture... @ the 32 week ultrasound you could really see the features it was sooooo cute... & believe it or not the way my daughter looked when she was born was the same way she looked in her ultrasound photo! I would definitly recomend them

I don't remember what week I was in but I am almost a 100% sure I was in the 7th month. I believe it was a wonderful experience to see my daughter before she was born. I got to see her sucking her thumb and moving around. I think it is great. I even had it recorded and now I can show her when she is older. I would recommend it. =0)

I was at the beginning of my 8th month. I thought that it was pretty cool, although, you really have to look sometimes to figure out exactly what you're seeing. I mean, it's nice to get an idea of what your baby will look like, but it's primarily for parental sentimentality only. It has absolutely NO diagnostic value whatsoever. They don't generally do them much earlier 'cause the babies kind of look like aliens before then & they don't want to scare the mothers. My daughter did look like the 3-D picture when she was born, especially when she slept.

I had it done at 18 weeks. My son was asleep and wouldn't move around for the tech to see everything he needed to so he kept hitting his bum (well, be actually) to wake him up. It was worth it because based on the results of that an my blood test I could opt out of the amnio.
