I would do something so radical it may shock those who read it - I would actually follow the U.S. Constitution! I would veto all bills that came to my desk that would be unconstitutional if made law. I would veto all budgets that funded even ONE program not permitted by it.

I do not know about being the leader of the free world. Who does the leader of the free world represent and who determines what nations are under the umbrella labeled "free world". I have heard this term used many time to descibe the United States President. The term is wrong, when used such a way, as it suggests that the president has a duty to execute the tenants of our constitution to people and nations that are not America.
If I were the United State's leader. I would do all things required to promote a superior standard of living for my country, secure posterity and provide for the common defense. I would make sure that the USA's citizen's and legal visitor's could enjoy the safety and freedom this nation has enjoyed for centuries and I would secure these for generations to come.
I would not try to understand those who murder my national family. I would eliminate any threat to my country with swift and overwhelming force. I would destroy any enemy that will likely kill my national family in the future. I would destroy a million of the enemy to protect a member of my national family and cut off the fingers of my enemies if it leads to information that protects members of my family from harm.
I would reward and strengthen bonds with our true allies, I would use diplomacy to offer friendship and compromise to those nations that generally do not like my country, and I would destroy those nations and people that attempt or plot to hurt my country. I would not allow my enemy to grow powerful enough to become problematic and costly to dismantle at a later time.
I will oppose highly destructive ideologies like fascism, liberalism and socialism as they are cancers that destroy national pride, social unity and personal achievement while promoting decadance and self-loathing. I would protect history and take it out of the hands of liars
I would understand that because I am the leader of the greatest country in the world (by far), there will always be groups of enemies and traitors that will try to demean and destroy our nation's structure to bring it down.
My goal is peace through the only time proven method known.
National pride, loyalty, and unity
Personal courage, ethics, and resolve
Faith in a higher power
Preparation for war
I am an American first which is an amazing wonderful thing
I am a member of the world community last which means very little.

I would ban the death penalty. Pursue better enducation for young people. I would pursue diplomacy to the bitter end with any nation we have conflict with, even if they attacked us first. I would legalize the use of marijuana (even though I don't smoke it). I would partner with other nations in the destruction of nuclear weapons. I would bring more jobs back to the U.S. I would do something about inflation. I would raise the minimum wage. I would keep abortion leagal, even though I'm prolife, yet wold not allow tax payer money to fund any part of it. I would legalize gay marriage even though I don't agree with it. I belive that just because an issue is leagal doesn't mean that we must all endorse it. This is a free democratic society and everyone should be able to do and believe as they please as long as it doesn't hurt themselves, their neighbor, and it's not a plot against the government. If you don't agree or support a certain idea then you have the freedom not to do it.

I'd stop trying to find new reasons to invade other countries, and spend some of the military budget on people, instead. We need to help the people on the Gulf Coast, and it wouldn't take a lot of money to eradicate several horrible diseases from the world. Why don't we concentrate on helping people instead of killing them? Maybe they wouldn't hate us so much then.
