I used to vote democrat, but now it seems Democrats believe everything I care about is wrong. Even working to earn an honest living...is wrong.

thats cool, as long as you vote.
but
all you have to do is look at the statisics of the divide between rich and poor, the percentage of wealth compared to overall US citizen Population and
look at where all the money went for tax cuts.

Beside our issues relate to work.....

Immgration is about earing an honest living....

Education is about being able to get a good job.

Healthcare is about keeping you able to support your family with a job

Troop pullouts....make sure less people die doing thier jobs...

Were you better off 7 years ago than you are now?

To lump the diverse peoples in the USA's political parties together is simply unworkable and ends up being very problematic.

Just as the current neo-cons in power do not represent true Republican ideals (small government, fiscal responsibility, and its intent on strengthening of our rights and liberties) or even the ethics of the majority of the Republican rank and file. Most Democrates are not all commie liberals seeking to disarm and render totally helpless the American public.

This is the black or white thinking of our childhood.

2008 might see and break loose the deadlock and stranglehold the United States of America's two party system has enjoyed and maintained.

There are a large number of members from both parties who have strong libertarian beliefs like yours that are not getting served by either party and that might breed the reconstitution of a new libertatrian party. New political parties might be created as neither party is dedicated to addressing the needs of the public.

For way too long the international Corporate communitty has bankrolled both political parties tying up our elected leaders into debts with special interests groups and not being able to focus at all on the welfare and safety of our crumbling American infrastructure (this includes the disintergration of our scarce liberties) and communitties. I am a liberal and a strong libertarian and I do not believe that the poor can not prosper nor that prosperity is in any way finite nor is it strictly commodity based. ~ Rudy

No we don't, prosperity is subjective. But it is a proven fact that there is a finite amount of "dollars" in the world, which is what gives money its value. Everybody will always hoard what is in limited supply. I make a great living, and don't plan on giving any of it away anytime soon. The funny thing is, to a Democrat, it seems that everything I do is wrong... to a Republican. Rest assured we're not that different.

Of course it is...Republicans & other conservatives subscribe to this silly notion that opportunity grows on trees! Opportunity is a limited commodity and those with lots of cash start out on the 95 yard-line in the 100 yard opportunity dash.

Who remembers the game musical chairs from elementary school? It dawned on me recently what the purpose of the game was. It was the first real lesson in economic scarcity for children. We didn't have to pay for the seats, of course, but we had to compete for a limited number of seats. Some people would betray their friends with an aggressive push for the last seat. Sometimes two friends would pause, as if allowing the other to have the seat until one finally gave into greed.

The game made me angry because every round created another loser.

So, the next time you see an unemployed person or someone on welfare, remember they're the folks who paused before sitting down and let you take a job.

I think very few have an issue with hard work but you are right, the rich seem to have most of this countries wealth whether you want to believe it or not!

Paying 100% of your salary for food, shelter and transportation is a little different that someone earning 168 MILLION a year, like our current Sec of the Treasury. I don't think he pays close of 100% for anything!! Do you?

You really think anyone should be paid 168 million a year?

No,
Do Conservatives believe banning flag burning is not censorship?

"Censorship of anything, at any time, in any place, on whatever pretense, has always been and always be the last resort of the boob and the bigot."
--Eugene Gladstone O'Neill

"Once a government is committed to the principle of silencing the voice of opposition, it has only one way to go, and that is down the path of increasingly repressive measures, until it becomes a source of terror to all its citizens and creates a country where everyone lives in fear."
--Harry S. Truman, message to Congress, August 8, 1950

Not much thought went into this question.

It seems if you want to h elp anyone you're called "liberal." Jesus then I guess would be a liberal if he walked into your life today

what party do you think he might have been?

Its pretty hard to argue with them when the "rich" do everything they can to to stay rich at the expense of the ones who are not.Isnt it a shame when the politicians vote themselves raises and the minimum raise workers have to continue supporting their families this way-but nobody should care about these people right.

If you're a hypocritical, war-loving, gun-toting, fearmongering, money-hating Christian closet-case conservative, then you should vote Republican.

If you're not dumb, you should vote NOT Republican. I'm not saying vote Democrat - just don't vote Republican. Heck, vote for the Green party. Just don't put another Republican in the office. Look what 8 years of Republican rule has done to this country.
