Find the department of education website in the state where you live or the school district website. You should be able to find a copy of the standards and benchmarks for sixth grade and you will know what he is expected to know when he leaves sixth grade. In New Mexico they also have pacing guides to tell you in which order they will learn these standards and benchmarks.

cosmeo.com is a great website made by the Discovery Channel. The only thing is there is a small membership fee to join the site. I can so though, that it is definatly worth the cost.
