If you've been trying to conceive for over a year, you should be seeing a *fertility* specialist. But before you do, please read _Taking Charge of Your Fertility_ by Toni Weschler. It will give you some important information that will help you determine whether you are fertile, and also leads on the questions you will need answers to.

Good luck!!

After a year of trying ...they usually do test to check to see if you have a fertility problem . a main reason for infertility is pcos .Usually monitoring is done , ultrasounds , blood work . The first step for most is a fertility drig called clomid though their is many others . they'll ask you if you have regular menstrual cycles as well
they will also want a semen analysis from your husband to see if it is yourself or him that may need treatment

You just need to tell her/him that you have been trying to have a baby for a year and a half, and that you would like to find out if anything is wrong. Just tell her you need help with this.

He or she will then ask you a lot of questions.

This is from seeing my own brother and sister in law trying to have a baby. First have her check you for endomitriosis. Also have her check your insulin level. My sister in law had a problem with the level and once it was regulated she was able to conceive. Today they have 2 children.

they'll probably just have you do some tests first - your husband too. they made me call when i started my period to schedule me for a test the next week (it was an exray to make sure that the tubes were open & there was no blockage) and again when I started ovulating.

ask if there are any tests they can run to see if you can have a baby, and have your husband's sperm tested too. I went in and had surgery to have my tubes flushed and got pregnant right away. good luck, hope you get some good news!
