The state will pay for a cardboard coffin, they are heavy duty , and just rembers that if you put someones remains in an unlined crypt , the liquid they use to seal is waterproof, regardless water doesn't seep in , call the cornoners office and ask how to go about it .

Hi there so sorry for your loss - yes the state can pay for it but im not too sure how you go about it, i suggest you speak to your local council or an undertaker. So sorry not to have been more help xx

In Illinois, the state will bury them. I would contact the state's (you live in) department of public assistance, they should be able to direct you.

I am not sure about the state paying for it, but most of your mortuaries do have payment plans..
