why do some many people just throw their cigarette butts outside instead of the garbage?

Because smokers think they own the world. After all, I breathe in their smoke and there is nothing we can do about that. Do you really think they are going to walk to the nearest trash to dispose of their garbage? I think it is funny that is against the law to throw a butt out the window of a car, yet I see COPS doing it all the time. Other countries are not like this. They are proud of their countries and they don't litter at all. They are very clean and proud of where they live.

The smoker's mentality, and their "I don't give a sh*t" attitude.

Smokers think that if they throw the cig. in the garbage, it will cause a fire. So they throw it on the pavement, because the pavement can't catch fire.

What they should do is twist off the little bit of the burning end of the cig, and throw the butt in the garbage.

Such a simple answer, and yet apparently, too difficult for smoker's to do.

It seems sadly that in today's day and age that it is all about "me" and that there is so much self centeredness. People who smoke don't want to stink up their own cars when they throw it our their car window, and in general the people who do this think that just because it is such a small piece of trash that it will just disentegrate or something. I have heard it said that a cigarette butt takes 100 years to biodegrade. I don't think they realize what they are doing to the environment we all live in, and if they do they just don't care because they have an "all about me" attitude.

so it doesnt catch the trash can on fire i guess.. i dont know. I will carry a butt clear up to the door at wal-mart or something and throw it in that stick thing they have just for butts. I hate throwing them on the ground because even though i smoke i know i dont want people covering my yard in them, that is what ashtrays are for. If you have no ashtray nearby, then snuff it out on the ground, and keep the butt in your pack or something till you find an ashtray or trashcan people!

******* dumb, how are you going to anticipate some one which kill sthmesleves to furnish a **** about anybody else? Or....they're undeniable stupid. I hate seeing that too. I provide up smoking 3 yrs in the past and that i used to positioned butts in my pocket if no trash become round.... also you could initiate a freaking fireplace through flicking a butt. They are pigs and think they are entitled to force their nasty stinkin habits in others faces. If they can thro their butts on the ground I should be able to throw my beer cans on the ground. If they can smoke in my air I should be ablte to beer belch in their faces. I think smokers are nastly self centered ignorant aholes!

Beacuse they are afraid of fire. It's very easy to lit garbage with cigarette but, especialy if there is lot of paper in it.
