I would wait for Brasil.
South Africa is still a dangerous place to visit, very high crime.
If you go to Brasil, you would have the benefit of being in the same time zone (no jet lag), and of being in a country where soccer is almost a religion.

Both would be very nice. I'd pick South Africa simply because it's four years earlier.
The two countires are beautiful and there are many wonderful things to do and see between games. Plus, Brazilian food is great and its beer among the very best. On the other hand, South African wine is superb ...
So, it seems you have quite a dilemma!

You should aim for South Africa 2010. 2014 is too far away.

Go to Both. But South Africa will be grand despite what others say. Look up pictures of Cape Town and see how beautiful it is.

It really all depends on you. How bad do you want to go? How much money you save up? Would you rather be in South Africa or Brazil? Could you see yourself waiting 4 yrs? 8yrs? Ask yourself these questions.

i would advice people to go to south africa.
its an incredible place and people are great
for the sissies out there who complain about security, you know too little and fifa is not that stupid to place the world cup in s.africa if security was such a major issue.
south africa is beautiful and 2010 is closer!!!!!!!!
