No one religion is the source of all other religions.

Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Rastafari movement and the Bahá'í faith are Abrahamic religions -- their roots can be traced to the ancient Semitic tradition. (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abrahamic_religion)

The roots of modern Hinduism (Vaishnavism, Saivism etc), Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism can be traced to the ancient Vedic tradition (and the revolt against it).

There is no one religion that all other religions branched off of. Common sense. Look at Africa to eskimos to asians to middle easterners. They are all very diverse with no contact what so ever with one another.

That would be Pieganism (The worship of delicious baked goods and treats). Without a doubt the oldest religion and surely the source of all religious belief today.

Religion came from a need to control populations. Each society creates a set of rules that best benefits those in control.

Religion is a man-made construct. They're aren't "branches" so much as there are varied interpretations.

The most ancient Religion is unknown but from facts it is believed that Aryans were the first known community and OLDEST RELIGION is THE HINDU RELIGION.

I imagine if you really look at it, you'd find religion comes from worship of the natural world. Christian holidays have pagan counterparts, and etc. Religion, I feel, is purely symbolic--none of the multitude of words of god are, truly, THE WORD OF GOD.

i would say Judaism (because in the start when people worshiped god their was not a name then for it then the HEBREWS came about then the JEWS after that people came up with their own ideas and called their self's by other names if am wring GOD forgive)

they say Christianity had some of its origin from the pagan beliefs, but don't know about the rest really
