Bad!! Too many things can go wrong. There are now so many web sites that sell iso 9001 ink (That's the standard printer makers use) that there is no reason to refill. Try DataBazaar.com. They sell new ink cartridges by quality generic manufacturers and ship free. All the cartridges they have for my canon and epson are under $5

You will have mixed results depending upon what type of printer you actually have. I have had nothing but good results, however working in the printer industry for a number of years I am aware of the added level of maintenance that refilling yourself incurs. I also will buy a printer that allows for easy filling.

I have also learned that although it is comfortable to fill at the kitchen or dining room table you are best to do it over the sink.

Make sure yo are still getting a great print before you even think about refilling and run regular print head cleanings. Always, I I do emphasize this, buy a refill kit specifically designed for your printer from a reputable company. Inks will vary in tone and viscosity, avoid universals at all costs.

I have considered it and then decided not to. In fact the last time I needed ink I bought a new printer instead. The ink color and black would have been around $60 instead for about $80 I got a new printer with a built in scanner which I didn't have a scanner before and it came with ink. So maybe you could do that.

I had very good experience with refills, but you need to know that you should never completely run out of ink before you refill them. If your cartridge is empty, it burns the stamper on the bottom and you can no longer use it as a refill cartridge. The cartridge is garbage at that point, unless you want to get technical and replace the stamper, too.

I had a bad experience refilling a Lexmark- my printer has not worked the same since. Canon is really easy to refill.

it leaked all over the inside of my printer, and after i cleaned it up the ink only lasted for a few pages of printing.

dont waste your money and just buy the real cartridge.

Hey,it's great to replace ink, but the print head seems to not print as sharp as a new cartrige would. Good luck.
