I gotta admit as a brit i think this programme rules!! Why? because its so fake! I mean c'mon! Have you ever noticed that when there happens to be a 'fight' in the locker room there is aways camera man already there getting it all on tape! or someone in the ring is always 'knocked-out' just long enough for their opponent to get their finishing move on them, which i might add is always 'the most death-defying move in the history of sports entertainment' ha ha! My favourite was the 'people's elbow!' I mean, please! You just gotta love it. It sure is entertainment and it sure gives us brits something to chuckle at especially with hmm.. what's that guy's name aha Eugene!! ANd then there is Mr *** aka Billy Gun *scratching head* why would you want to go around calling yourself 'Mr ***'?
I personally enjoy this amsuing programme but my question is why do you guys, over the pond, take it soooo damn seriously???

There are two types of wrestling fans. Ones who enjoy it and think its real. Then there are the ones who know its fake and the inner workings behind it but still enjoy it the same. Depends on who you are talking about.

C'MON ITS TRULY WORLD WRESTLING 'ENTERTAINMENT'.
not many r aware of it being fake but trust me pal its quiet fun.
These are professional athletes acting in a male soap -perfect one damn it. These r pre planned fights and the athletes r well trained according 2 rosters 2 run the match in their own style giving them limmited time for their matches - SIGNALLED BY THE COMMENTATORS who are much apart in the gameplay but peepal arent much aware. I MEAN HERE ARE MANY FACTS-
1.Whenever theres some outsider stepping in2 the ring the refree turns his back 2 the scene where some thing inmportant happens thats where the match turns and the hero loses it. eg. chairshot 2 our fav star.
2.There r small microphones under the CANVAS RING (which is 222 soft) so that the sound of impact is amplified.
3.The canvas ring floor has spesial saw dust sanwiched between 2 canvas sheets to protect injuries.
4.The harcore thrash can is made up of aluminium.
5.Tables are made up of double ply layer which can be broken when a child aged thirtenn jumps on it twice.
6.THE REF has 'blades' n blood capsules in his pocket and when the player nears him he hands it over 2 him and when he falls outside the ring he makes a small lesion or cut in a simple language on his forehead, the safest part, and comes back in2 the ring where then the blood appears 2 be all over his face thanks 2 above help. WATCH OUT - 99% THE PLAYER BLEEDS FROM HIS HEAD.
7.during a lock or tackle the opponent in command whispers next set of moves 2 the person in the lock .
8.Player kickin others butt always kicks on the canvas 4 amplified effect and stamina maintainnenance.
and u ask me ive got it all .........THERES A LOT 2 TELL THESE R ONLY FEW.

I'm from the UK and I take wrestling very seriously because i grew up watching it and taking it seriously. yeah it's choreographed (i do NOT like the term fake accidents happen) and yeah the guys know the outcome of the match before it even happens but that's no reason to take it any less seriously! I am a girl and i hate most ball games ( UK Football, Golf, Cricket, Rugby, Netball and Tennis) Wrestling is something i watch to give myself a little time out from reality...ok i don't always like what they show like Vincent Kennedy McMahon's backside for one thing but I grew up watching it and i still love it so even though creative's direction is hardly ermmm wonderful at present I still enjoy watching WWE. I don't watch the competition...I hope to work for WWE as a writer!

No because it's seen all over the world. I've been seeing the WWE for a very long time, mind you! And as for taking it seriously here in the States, we do because both of their programmes Raw and Smackdown have garnered high ratings for Monday and Friday nights respectively. WWE has and always will be taken seriously by their fans due to their _overwhelming_ popularity!

Of course its fake, but I still enjoy it, its something weird, I mean, I dont take it that serious and of course all matches are pre choreagraphed but I still like to see the variety of moves and stunts they perform.
By the way, Thats why I dont like WWE that much, I like Mexican Wrestling or ROH or PWG more because of the diversity of movements and holds and grapples, I mean, knowing its fake and still watching WWE where they dont even know how to do simple grapples thatt sucks.

you know what your problem is?is like guys like you who don't understand this simple things.i mean c'mon it's just entertainment.even the name there has the word entertainment in it.yes it's cheorograph but it's not fake.they really get hurt.how do u fake a guy crashing into tables, falling off hell in a cell,ladders,barb-wire,c'mon.they really put their bodies on the line just for us and this is how u think about them.

i don't think people take it as seriously as you seem to think..
it's theatrics.. people get caught up in the hoopla..
a lot of americans ask the same question of brits and eruopeans,
when we see the soccer riots.. lol

It's a male soap opera and they are just as hostile about their soap opera as women are.
