When I go on sites such as myspace or similar how do I know if the celebratey I emailed is really that person and not just someone working for them?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's probably just an assistant. I'm not sure how much time celebrities have to answer every e-mail and blog post they recieve. It'd be nice if it was really them, though.

More than likely it's their personal assistant or their publicist. Occasionally you get the real person. (I know for a fact a few of the ones who are on myspace, but I'll never tell.)

In short, yourself.
The long answer is all about the social needs of humans and the psychology behind it, too long to write here.

Keep in mind this is all personal opinion.

You don't. Celebrities are usually too busy to answer all their mail so they have to have someone that answers/sorts it.
